Skiles Restaurant and Bar

Skiles is a Holland Landmark. I'm not sure how long it has been in business, but I know that my dad and uncle used to gallivant upon the premises in their wild, teenage years. It doubles as a restaurant and bar, both of which have their pros and cons. The most outstanding feature of Skiles is the pizza. When they bring a steaming pan of pie out from the kitchen, you can see everyone in the joint turn and salivate at least a little. The crust is thin but not crispy, and I think they may sprinkle crack in the sauce because it is certainly addicting. Add a few scrumptious toppings and you have yourself an immaculate eating experience. The night life at Skiles is OK depending on what you are looking for. If you are into a classic bar with heavy smoke, pool, and jukebox wonderment, then this is your place. It does have a separate room from the bar area where the non-smokers can sit, but the carcinogens still attack you there. Drinks are reasonably priced, and you can usually find a lively, somewhat diverse crowd with which to mingle. Don't anger the bartenders though. They are renowned for kicking people out, and they don't forget a face. Even if you are not enticed by this description, Skiles is at least worth a visit. Go shoot a game, try the pizza, antagonize the bartender. Who knows what kind of fun it will lead to.
